Carroll B. Crosby

WALTERBORO: Mr. Carroll B. Crosby, husband of Evelyn Fisk Crosby, died Monday evening at the Colleton Medical Center. He was 80.

Mr. Crosby was born Oct. 12, 1931 in Colleton County, a son of the late Bartow L. Crosby and Jessie Blocker Crosby. He served his country faithfully in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a retired Fuel Systems Supervisor for the Department of Defense at the Charleston Air Force Base for 33 years. He was a lifelong member of Pine Grove Baptist Church #1, where he was a Deacon, a Trustee, a member of the Men's Sunday School Class, a former maintenance chairman, a member of the Building Committee and the brotherhood leader. He was a devoted husband and father that enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He was also an avid outdoorsman.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by two sons, Todd Carroll Crosby and Rodney Crosby (Cindy) both of Walterboro, and a daughter, Pamela Crosby Rholetter(Kevin) of Columbia. There is a brother, Everett Crosby (Joyce) of Walterboro and four grandchildren: Holden Scott Crosby, Canyon Gibson Crosby, Madeline Carol Rholetter and Kennedy Claire Rholetter. He also had a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Pine Grove Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street, Walterboro, SC

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 99 Pine Grove Road, Walterboro, SC 29488.
