WALTERBORO: Anita Patterson Hoagland, wife of the late James C. Hoagland, passed away Thursday February 2, 2017 at the Summerville Medical Center after an extended illness. She was 73.
Mrs. Hoagland was born in Louisville, KY June 15, 1943 a daughter of the late Willard and Florence Rogancamp Patterson. She was a well-known teacher at Bells Elementary for many years, and also tutored countless children during her career. She was a devoted wife and mother and was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Walterboro.
She is survived by her children: Beth Aiken (Henry) of Ruffin, Jenni Belding of Summerville, and Jimmy Hoagland (Teresa) of Walterboro. She has three siblings: Tommy Patterson, Jackie Watson, and Debbie Jaggers. She leaves behind five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon February 11, 2017 at 3:00 in the Bethel Presbyterian Church of Walterboro. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
