WALTERBORO: Mrs. Ann Vaughn Hooker, wife of the late Albert Henry Hooker, died Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at The Methodist Oaks in Orangeburg. She was 82.
Mrs. Hooker was born May 4, 1937 in Walterboro, a daughter of the late Lee Vaughn and Ollie Perry Vaughn. She was a homemaker, a longtime preschool teacher, a devoted wife and mother, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Walterboro.
She is survived by her children, Susann H. Padgett (Michael), Nancy H. Starks (David), A. Henry Hooker, Jr. (Becky) and Ward L. Hooker (Ana). There are five grandchildren: Ashleigh P. Headley (Jonathan), David M. Padgett (Ashley), Carie O. Burris (Pierre), Eric O'Bryant (Jessica) and Nicholas Hooker (Hope). Mrs. Hooker also has eight great-grandchildren: Sanders and Ford Padgett, McTeer, Wells and Beau Headley, Remy and Jada Burris, and Brooks O'Bryant. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Jean McClellan, Carletta Keith, and Judy Eleazor.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Walterboro.
