YEMASSEE: Anne Lorraine Arthur Kratzer passed away Thursday morning at the Hampton Regional Medical Center in Hampton after a brief illness. She was 73.

Anne was born in Milford, CT December 29, 1942 a daughter of the late William James Arthur and Alberta Lorraine Smith Arthur. For many years she was an employee of Premier Dry Cleaners in Beaufort, and was a member of the Black Creek Baptist Church in Walterboro. She lived a very simple and private life, and her favorite pastime was watching TV.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo Beth Woods (Anthony) of Yemassee, and by two granddaughters, Chelsea and Ashlee Woods. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert "Bob" Arthur and William "Billy" Arthur. There are several nieces and nephews.


A memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Yemassee Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
