WALTERBORO: Antonia Prioleau Paul Jackson, passed away Sunday morning surrounded by her loving family at the Medical University of South Carolina. She was 71. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Earl E. Jackson III.

Toni was born November 5, 1946 the daughter of the late Charles Leith Paul III and Selby Fechtig Paul and sister of Lisa Van Lear Menefee (deceased). She was a graduate of Ashley Hall and attended Marjorie Webster College. A loyal and devoted wife, her early adult years were spent working in the most important occupation, as the mother of E. Edward IV, Charles Leith Paul and William Douglass. Her success as a mother carried over to her eventual role as grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren, Suzanne Motte Peronneau, Edward Chisolm, and Julia Regan of Charleston, SC and Frederick McKinstry and Sadie Joy of Nashville, TN.

Toni was an active volunteer at St. Jude's Church, where she served a co-director of the youth group for 12 years. She was President of the Colleton County Arts Council. Toni was an accomplished sculptor, with her works winning many awards. She possessed a sharp wit and whimsical sense of humor that left everyone whom she met confident that they had a friend. Her friendships were long term and loyal. She was a member of the Colleton County Historical & Preservation Society, St. Jude's women's bible study group, Sullivan's Island supper club and former member of the Charleston garden club.

A memorial service will be held at St. Jude's Church in Walterboro on Friday March 31, 2017 at 3pm ET, followed by a reception in Skarden Hall to celebrate her memory. The family will hold a private interment at Old Sheldon Church in Yemassee, SC on Saturday morning.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Church, 907 Wichman St., Walterboro, SC 29488. The family would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Trauma ICU staff at MUSC for their skill and dedication. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
