WALTERBORO: Avery Logan Craven passed away Friday at the home of his nephew, Ron Craven, in Columbia. He was 91.
Mr. Craven was born March 4, 1924 in Walterboro, a son of late Levy Owens Craven and Josie Fralix Craven. He was an electrician at the Savannah River Plant and a farmer. He served in the US Navy and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving are: nephews, Ronald (Peggy) Craven of Columbia, Jon C. deLonge of Walterboro, Roy Barber, Jr. of Orangeburg, Eddie Craven, deceased (Nancy) of Walterboro; nieces, Janie Beach (David, deceased) of Walterboro, Brenda Craven and Linda Hiers both of Walterboro, Kathy (Jimmy) Daw of Charleston, Priscilla Brizendine of Columbia and Paula (Robbie) Robertson of Orangeburg and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Lindy, Clyde and Hoover Craven and a sister, Beulah Barber.
The Craven family would like to extend a special thank you to the Lighthouse Hospice and Amanda, Jason and Kaleb for the wonderful care given to him during his illness.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2PM in Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home chapel with burial in Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 12 until 2 PM.
