Barbara Jean Hinton Guilford of Walterboro, South Carolina, passed away in her sleep and was called home to Heaven on January 29, 2026. She was born on October 15, 1940 in Jacksonboro, South Carolina to James Obie Hinton and Adeline Toomer Hinton. She attended Cottageville High School.

She was a member of Walterboro Church of God for many years, and loved attending the services and activities there. One of her favorite places to go was the Smoky Mountains, spending many vacations in Pigeon Forge, TN and Cherokee, NC. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping in various campgrounds in the North Carolina mountains.

In her middle years, she took an interest in antiques. For this, she spent most every weekend going to yard sales throughout the Lowcountry and did the same when she was on vacation or visiting friends.

She had a great fondness for younger people and was affectionately called "GiGi" by them all. Her heart was very giving, and she would do what she could to not only help out friends and families, but strangers as well.

Barbara is survived by her husband of over 68 years, Billy Guilford, who resides at the Veterans Victory House. They enjoyed many great years of marriage, always together camping, going to the yard sales, and Gospel singings.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Bill Guilford (Nina Jean) of Alpharetta, GA, a grand-daughter, Amanda Martinez of Clarkesville, TN, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Crosby, grandson Jimmy Crosby, parents Obie and Adeline Hinton, sister Diane Landingham, and brother Jimmy Hinton.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 11:30 AM in the chapel of Parker Rhoden Funeral Home.
