WALTERBORO :     Mrs. Bernice V. Gilmore passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 18, 2020 at the Pruitt Post-Acute Health Care Center in Walterboro.  She was 85.

Bernice was born in Cowards, SC August 28, 1934 a daughter of the late Willard and Etta Miles Elmore.  She worked as a seamstress throughout her life at various manufacturing plants in Charleston, as was a member of the First Church of God in Summerville.  She loved her family dearly, and in her younger years she loved spending time outdoors gardening.

She is survived by two children:  Clyde w. Gilmore of Walterboro, and Evelyn Marie Peake (Mike) of Hanahan.  There are four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by a son, Elden Lee Gilmore, and by her brothers and a twin sister.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, February 21, 2020 at 3:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 at the funeral home.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
