MOUNT PLEASANT, SC :     Mrs. Bessie Adams Addison, wife of James Kyle Addison, passed away Sunday evening, April 26, 2020 at Southbay at Mount Pleasant.  She was 93.

Mrs. Addison was born in Cottageville, SC February 6, 1927 a daughter of the late William Bennie Adams and Belle Redmond Adams.  Through her husband's career with DuPont, she lived in many different locations where he was assigned, finally settling in Savannah after his retirement for the last twenty years.  Mrs. Addison was a devoted wife and mother who was a wonderful homemaker for her husband and children.  She was a graduate of Furman University, was an active member of Skidaway Island Methodist Church, and especially enjoyed playing golf and bridge.

In addition to her husband of sixty-nine years, she is survived by her children:  James Kyle Addison Jr. (Nancy) of Asheville, NC, Katherine Addison Oyer (Doug) of Mount Pleasant, and Cynthia Addison Richards (Lee) of Newark, DE.  She has a brother, Lloyd Adams of Charleston, and seven grandchildren:  Lindsay Addison Hauss, Courtney Addison McKenzie, Elizabeth Addison Cirillo, Rebecca Lee Richards, James Lohman Oyer, Scott Adams Oyer, and Katherine Olivia Oyer.  She is also survived by five great-grandchildren:  Addison Ann McKenzie, Garland Hamilton McKenzie III, Cameron Steele McKenzie, Julia Addison Hauss, and Caroline Marie Hauss.

In consideration of the circumstances that currently exist in the state and nation with the coronavirus pandemic, and with the health and safety of the community in mind, a private graveside service will be held at the Jordan Cemetery in Cottageville.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
