WALTERBORO : Betty Addison Hamlet passed away Friday morning, January 18, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family under hospice care. She was 85.
Betty was born in Cottageville April 5, 1933 a daughter of the late Robert L. and Vivian Gruber Addison. She and her late husband Don were the owners and operators of the Huddle house in Walterboro. She was raised in the Rehoboth Methodist Church in Round O, but had been attending Grace Advent Christian Church in Walterboro. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Jane Moore (Haskell) and Jan Pye (Pete) all of Walterboro. She leaves behind her siblings Robert L. Addison Jr. (Lee), Jacqueline Hayne (Bill) and George R. Addison (Lorine), and her daughter-in-law Paula Cone. There are nine grandchildren: Joann Rock, Joey Cone, Nikki Beasley, Lynn Hiott, Janna Davis, and Chris, Michael, Matt and Josh Hall. She has eighteen great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husbands Joseph Paul Cone and Donald Willis Hamlet, and by two sons, Joseph and Bob Cone.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 in the Grace Advent Christian Church, with burial following in the Fox Cemetery in Round O. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 in the church sanctuary. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
