Beverly Ann Smith Coplen, 53, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Sunday evening, May 22, 2022, at her residence, surrounded by her family and under the care of Agape Hospice.

Born May 7, 1969, she was the daughter of the late David V. Smith and Mattie Stanley Hickman. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. If you knew Beverly, you knew that she loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She had a smile that could light up the darkest room and a giving heart that helped anyone in any way she could. Her greatest joy in life was her daughter and three grandchildren,whom she absolutely adored. During her free time, she would visit her favorite places, Edisto Beach and Hilton Head Island, where she spent countless hours enjoying the sand and the sea. She loved her family immensely, staying strong and positive throughout her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She enjoyed gardening, dancing to music and spending time with her friends and family any chance she could.

Surviving are her mother, Mattie S. Hickman of Walterboro, daughter Danielle Jacob (Andrew) of San Antonio, Texas, brother David W. Smith (Melanie) of Walterboro, sister Christy Smith Carroll of Walterboro, three grandchildren, Garrett, Charlotte, and Luka, uncle Tommy L. Smith, beloved nieces and nephews, Gabriel Smith (Jessica), Savannah Jones (Alex), Sierrah Smith, Matthew Smith, Jamie Smith (Sarah), Shelby Smith (Evan Mello), and a special life-long friend, Candy Carter, along with a host of extended family and friends she dearly loved.

A memorial service will be held Thursday evening, May 26, 2022 at 5:30 at Shiloh Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church sanctuary.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
