Harry William (Billy) Guilford, Jr. of Walterboro SC passed away in his sleep and was called home to Heaven on February 4, 2026. He was born on March 18, 1933 to Harry William Guilford and Mazie Herndon Guilford. He graduated from Walterboro High School in 1951, attended Clemson for two years, then enlisted in the US Army, where he was stationed in Korea.

He was a member of Walterboro Church of God for many years, was very active in the Men's Ministry, and played bass guitar for the church. He loved baseball, playing on local teams as an adult and then became an avid golfer. In addition to being in the Smoky Mountains, he loved going to Gospel Singings, traveling throughout the Southeast to attend them.

He retired from the United States Postal Service after thirty years of service, but kept active being an EMT, was active and retired from the National Guard, then in later years worked with Parker Rhoden Funeral Home.

Billy was always ready to crack a joke and flash that great smile. He was also very grateful for anything done for him, and always let people know it. The other soldiers in the National Guard lovingly referred to him as "Squirrel."

Billy is survived by his son, Bill Guilford (Nina Jean) of Alpharetta, GA, a grand-daughter, Amanda Martinez of Clarkesville, TN, his brother Bobby Guilford (Donna) of Stevensville, MD, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in his death by his wife of 68 years, Barbara Jean Hinton Guilford, his daughter Linda Crosby, grandson Jimmy Crosby, parents Harry and Mazie Guilford, sister Emily Guilford Keogh, and sister Celeste Guilford Cobb.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 11:30 AM at the chapel in Parker Rhoden Funeral Home for Billy and his wife Barbara.
