WALTERBORO:     Bonnie Berry Sikes passed away Thursday afternoon, September 28, 2023 at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.  She was 69.

Bonnie was born in Colleton County May 1, 1954 a daughter of the late Lee J. Berry and Gloria Johnson Berry.  She graduated from Walterboro High School and pursued a career in the computer department at Costal Carolina University.  She later worked as a data processor at Coastal Distribution, and as an accountant at US Foods in Walterboro, Columbia and Savannah.  Bonnie had a deep passion for Live Oak Cemetery, where many of her family members were buried.  She loved cleaning graves there, and she was known for her kind heart and funny personality.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter Shelby Lyn Kirby, and by her brother, James Ronald Berry (Kathy).  There are three grandchildren:  Jennifer Leigh Light (Samantha), Carly Alexis Draper (Rob), and Miles Daly Strickland.  She leaves behind five great-grandchildren:  Adelina, Graclyn, Kingston, Mila, and Nova.  Bonnie is also survived by her lifelong best friends Joy, Terry, and Ruthie.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Strickland Petit.

Bonnie will be interred privately at Live Oak Cemetery.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
