WALTERBORO:     Mr. Carl W. Wagener passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, February 11, 2026 at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro at the age of 83.  He was born in Harding, Kansas September 29, 1942 a son of the late Willie Christopher Wagener, and the late Gracie Hurd Wagener.  He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, and was a retired employee of the Charleston Naval Shipyard.  Carl was a Mason, and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by two grandchildren, John Wayne and Brittney Christine, and by nieces and nephews Gail Long (Leroy), Gerald Bailey (Donna), Terry Bailey (Tina), VonLehe Bailey (Wanda) Mickey Pye (Nancy), Caroline Jernigan (Jeff), Sandy Fender (Mike) and Jeanie Davis (Tony).

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife Miriam Llewellyn "Pinky" Bailey Wagener, and by his son Carl Wayne Wagener.

Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, February 17, 2026 at 11:00 at Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
