WALTERBORO:     Carole Brachter Simpson passed away peacefully Friday, June 21, 2024 under hospice care at the home of her daughter in Hallam, Pennsylvania at the age of 81.

Carole was born in Atlanta, Georgia October 1, 1942 a daughter of the late John Vance Brachter and Levie Ann Brown Brachter.  She was a devout Christian woman who devoted her life to her Lord and to her family.  Carole always placed the needs of others ahead of her own, and she was loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Wesley Simpson, Steven Simpson, Pat Simpson, Judy Simpson, and Angela Simpson Davey.  There are a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Carole was preceded in death by her husband Wesley Gene Simpson, by her son Mark Gene Simpson, by her daughter Joyce Simpson Franklin, by her grandson Thomas John Simpson, and by her Sister-in-Christ Frances Sondra "Ollie" Appleby.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, June 29, 2024 at 11:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 at the funeral home, located at 117 Paul Street in Walterboro.
