WALTERBORO :  Caroline Kinard Johnson, 98, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023, at the home of her daughter in Rock Hill, SC.

Born October 18, 1924, in Cottageville, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Isaac Kinard and Ina Mae Griffith Kinard. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe A. Johnson, parents James Isaac Kinard and Ina Mae Griffith Kinard, sisters Thelma Eugenia Kinard and Clara Elizabeth K. Mincey, and brother, James Whitmore (Jeep) Kinard. She was the retired owner of the Walterboro Answering Service and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her only daughter, Jan Johnson Price (Charles M. Price) of Rock Hill, SC, and her granddaughters, Ginny M. Price of Rock Hill, SC, and Brandeis P. Green (Wally Green) of Rock Hill, SC, and her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Cooper K. Johnson. A loving mother, grandmother, aunt, neighbor, and friend, she will be missed by many.

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-deserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a ride!"-Unknown. Praise to Almighty God!

A graveside service will be held at 3 pm, Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro, SC 29488, with Reverend Dr. Scott Wachter officiating.
