WALTERBORO: Carroll Eugene Hale, husband of Sharon Kay Raymond Hale, passed away Tuesday November 15, 2016 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He was 79.

Carroll was born June 6, 1937 in Walterboro, SC. He was a son of the late J. T. Hale and Evie Mary Bennett Hale. He served four years in the US Navy and two years in the Army National Guard. He worked for many years as an auto mechanic until he retired, and then he worked a few years as a videographer. Carroll enjoyed Nascar races, and was an avid fan of many sports, including his favorites which were the USC Gamecocks, the Atlanta Braves, and his much-loved Colleton Prep Academy Warhawks.

In addition to his wife of fifty-five years, he is survived by his children: Steven Hale, Sandra "Sandy" Hale Walling (Chuck), Michael Hale, Jeffery Hale, and Stacy Hale Sonnenberg (Lawrence). There are seven grandchildren: Matthew Walling, Kirby Walling, Kristina Hale, J. D. Hale, Logan Hale, Justin Byrd, and Holly Byrd. There are two great grandchildren, Anthony Noah Jerideau and Justin Hugh Byrd, Jr. Carroll has a brother, John Hale (Margie), several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his most loyal companion, his Chihuahua, "Buddy". He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Hale.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul St., Walterboro, SC.
