FLORENCE:     Mrs. Mary Kathleen "Cassie" Galbiati, wife of Carlo "Lu" Galbiati III, passed away peacefuly Thursday afternoon, May 2, 2024 at her home in Florence after an extended illness.  She was 80.

Cassie was born in West Palm Beach, Florida December 16, 1943 a daughter of the late Frasier and Eula Belle Padgett Herndon.  She attended Columbia College, and spent her career working for the United States Government in the civil service.  She was a member of Quinby United Methodist Church in Florence, and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband Lu, she is survived by her son Kurt H. Brockett (Paige) of Hartsville, SC, and their children Noah and Caroline. She leaves behind her step-son Carlo L. Galbiati IV (Dawn), of Seattle, WA, and their children Carlo V, Isabella, and Jackie.

Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, May 7, 2024 at 12:00 at the Doctors Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Walterboro. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
