WALTERBORO : Mr. Charles Kemper, passed away peacefully Monday morning, April 4, 2022 at his home under hospice care, with his family by his side. He was 92.
Charles was born in Kerr, Ohio September 4, 1929 a son of the late Lowell William Kemper and Ethel Lucy Jackson Kemper. On December 23, 1947, Charles married his high school sweetheart, and the love of his life, Donna Jane Stewart. Charles retired after thirty-one years of dedicated service as a quality control inspector for J&L Steel Company in Aliquippa, PA and after retirement, he and his wife moved to Walterboro in 1988 to be closer to their beloved daughter Jane and her family.
Charles was a hard worker his entire life and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather…always placing the needs of his family above his own. He enjoyed taking his family to Myrtle Beach camping, and cherished his time outdoors maintaining his beautiful yard. He attended Bethel Presbyterian Church. In her last years battling dementia, Charles lovingly cared for his "sweetie" Donna Jane with admirable patience and tenderness, until she passed away in June of 2014, leaving a void he could never fill. He will truly be missed.
