Mr. Charles Edward Scarbrough Sr., husband of Mary Ellen Porter Scarbrough, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Mr. Scarbrough was born January 26, 1943, in Dublin, Georgia, a son of the late Horace Thomas Scarbrough and Mary E. Lizzie Maddox Scarbrough. He was a retired salesman from Flower's Bakery.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charles Edward Scarbrough and Phillip Chad Scarbrough, and by two daughters, Susan Lanier Scarbrough and Kimberly Lynn Scarbrough.  He leaves behind two brothers, HT Scarborough and Ricky Scarbrough, as well as two sisters, Hilda Wynn and Patsy Beall.  There are seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Scarbrough to St. Jude Children's Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
