COLUMBIA :   Mark Christian Whittington, 28, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at his home in Columbia.

Born January 30, 1994, he was the son of Mark Brian Whittington and Jacqueline Beverly Whittington. Christian grew up in Columbia, and he was well acquainted with his family in Walterboro. Both families deeply loved him.

Christian was an accomplished guitarist and he had recently received his degree from Midlands Technical College. Christian planned to continue his education to become a chemist. Christian was a devoted father to his son, and he was much loved by his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandfather James "Jake" Whittington, his grandmother Mary Frances Whittington, his grandfather Jack Beverly, Jr., his grandmother Marjy Garris Beverly, his Godfather and great uncle Renferd "Bing" Crosby, and his great-grandmother Bernice B. Beverly.

Surviving in addition to his father and mother are: a son, Layne Thomas Whittington of Columbia; a Godmother and great aunt, Helen B. Crosby of Walterboro; an aunt, Susan Whittington Irwin of Columbia; an aunt, Robin Beverly Stephens of Columbia; an aunt, Marjorie Beverly Bishop of Harleyville; an aunt, Belinda Whittington Storey of Columbia; and a step Grandmother, Honorie Beverly of Walterboro.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home. Thereafter Mark Christian Whittington was buried next to his beloved great-grandmother, Bernice B. Beverly, in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Walterboro.
