Mrs. Climmie Carter Batts, wife of the late Eugene T. Batts, passed away early Monday morning, April 6, 2026 under hospice care at the age of 84.

Mrs. Batts was born on Wadmalaw Island June 4, 1941 a daughter of the late Leonard Washington Carter and the late Mattie Pye Carter.  She was a true Christian woman who loved her Lord and enjoyed attending church actively when she was able.  For many years she cared for children in her home, and was also a homemaker and devoted wife and mother.  Mrs. Batts was an excellent cook and loved to bake for her family and friends.

She is survived by her son Christopher Batts (Samantha) and by her daughter, Cecilia B. Archambault (Dennis).  She leaves behind her grandchildren Emily, Ethan, Ayla, and Tyndall, as well as her great grandchildren Blythe and Greyson.  She is also survived by her sisters Shirley Smith and Jeanette Nord.

A graveside service will be held Saturday morning, April 11, 2026 at 10:00 at the Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro, is in charge of arrangements.
