WALTERBORO:   Mr. David William Livingston husband of Jessica Ritter Livingston, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, November 6, 2025 at the Pruitt Healthcare Center in Walterboro at the age of 81.

Mr. Livingston was born in Glendale, California November 7, 1943 a son of the late Shirley Jo Elwood Livingston and the late John William Livingston Jr.   He was a sucessful accountant, handling the books for countless businesses over the years with honesty and integrity.  He later became the executive director of the Greater Newport Area Chamber of Commerce which also served Oldtown, Cusick, Usk, and Diamond Lake in Washington State.  He was affectionately known as "Chamber Dave" and was an excellent manager and fundraiser.  His claim to fame was the paddleboat poker run which was held annually and was eagerly anticipated by the participants that would spend weeks preparing for the contest.  He was an excellent woodworker and loved spending time on the open waters sailing…a passtime he grew up doing.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Ginger Sanders (Jerry) and John Livingston (Cindy), by his step-children Steven Kelley Smith (Siobhan) and Joseph Shannon Smith (Kimberly), and by a host of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  He leaves behind his sister Marci Mauthe, and the mother of his children Linda.

A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday morning, November 19, 2025 at 11:00 at Doctor's Creek Baptist Church.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to either In His Name-Colleton, 214 Wichman Street, Walterboro, SC  29488, to St. Judes Children's Hospital at stjudes.org, or to Tunnell of Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
