BAMBERG: Diana F. Wood, wife of Elize Wood Jr., died at her parent's home in Smoaks Friday after an extended illness. She was 56.

Dianna was born in Bamberg, SC September 5, 1959 a daughter of Franklin and Ella Hanes Frye. She was a retired employee of Piggly Wiggly and Sarah Lee, and attended the Living Church of God.


In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by her children: Jonathan Michael Frye and Elizabeth "Beth" Hayden, both of Bamberg. She has two sisters: Maureen Smith (Steve) of Smoaks, and Rebecca Grygier (Steve) of Edinboro, PA. There are six grandchildren: Tray, Hayden, Hunter, Chance, Brianna and Colton. Dianna was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Kerry Frye.

Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in the Southend Cemetery in Bamberg, SC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
