WALTERBORO: Mr. Donald Blocker, husband of Pashie Henry Blocker, passed away Wednesday morning at his home on Sniders Highway under the care of Piedmont Hospice. He was 83.
Mr. Blocker was born in Walterboro May 4, 1933 a son of the late William Merrick Blocker and Mamie Hudson Blocker, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired after thirty years of service with the Chrysler Corporation in Dayton, Ohio and then returned to Walterboro. Mr. Blocker was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church, and was a skilled woodworker, mechanic and electrician. He passed away in the same home he was born in over 83 years ago.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Donald A. Blocker of Dayton, OH, and by a sister, Lucille Jones of Walterboro. There is also a special woman he thought of as a daughter, Delores Welch of Walterboro.
The family wishes to express the sincere appreciation and love to Dr. Curtis Stokes for the wonderful care, and friendship, he has given to Donald over the years.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 at the funeral home.
