Donald Rizer passed peacefully at his home on October 20, 2026. Born on January 5, 1941, in Walterboro, SC, Donald centered his life in his hometown, where he married his wife of 62 years , Nona; raised his children; and ran his business. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Dora, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Courtland Rizer, Sr. 

In addition to his wife, Nona Herndon Rizer, Donald is survived by his son, Donald Scott Rizer (Donna) and his daughter, Sherrie Rizer Wallinger (Scott); five grandchildren: Emma Rizer Rowh (Chandler); Donald Rizer; Ellen Wallinger; Susanna Wallinger; and Meredith Wallinger; two great-grandsons: Luke and Henry and a brother, Courtland.

Donations in Donald’s memory may be made to his lifelong church, Bethel United Methodist Church c/o Parsonage Fund.

The service will be Friday, October 23 at Bethel United Methodist Church at 1pm with visitation to follow. Burial will be private.
