WALTERBORO: Dora Rizer Brand passed away Tuesday morning, January 22, 2020 at the Colleton Medical Center.  She was 79.

Dora was born Jan. 5, 1941 in Walterboro, a daughter of the late Courtland Marion Rizer, Sr. and Dora Searson Rizer.  She graduated from Columbia College with a degree in teaching and taught in the Charleston County School system until her retirement.

She is survived by a son, Chris Brand of Charleston, by a daughter, Barbara Poole of Greer, and by two brothers, Courtland M. Rizer, Jr. and Donald S. Rizer of Walterboro.  There are three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held privately at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
