COTTAGEVILLE: With profound sadness we announce the passing of Doris Gaile Tomlin Alfaro, 53, of Cottageville.  She passed away Thursday August 13, 2020 at the Summerville Medical Center, with her family by her side.

Doris was born Christmas Day 1966, in Atlanta the daughter of J. L. Tomlin and Doris Godfrey Don.  She was a homemaker and often times a miracle worker to her children;  she was a wonderful mother, and a loving grandmother.  Doris loved to dance and many of the memories she leaves behind are those of song, smiles and an effervescent joy and love of all those around her.  She was always those around her, willing to give you the shirt off her back.  She was immensely proud of her family, and as her health declined, she never missed an opportunity to tell those closest to her how much she loved them.

In addition to her parents, J.L. Tomlin and Doris Don, she is by her two sons, Brandon and Brent Alfaro, and daughter Kelsey Alfaro, and by partner Dan Dandridge and her step-children, Aaron Dandridge, and  Danna Chestnut.  She is survived by three sisters: Robin Tomlin Todd, Felicia Taylor and Selena Tomlin.   Doris has seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by six nephews and two nieces.  She was preceded in death by the father of her children Everardo Martinez, her niece Dakota "Nikki" Franklin of Atlanta, and granddaughter Alyssa O'Quinn of Cottageville.

Family and friends are invited to attend her graveside service Wednesday morning, August 19, 2020 at 10:00 at the Jordan Cemetery in Cottageville.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro.
