WALTERBORO : Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Juettner Hawes, wife of the late Raymond Burke Hawes, passed away Wednesday morning, March 4, 2020 at her home in Walterboro. She was 92.
Mrs. Hawes was born on Long Island, NY December 20, 1927 a daughter of the late Walter Richard Juettner and Ethel Mueller Juettner. She started her professional career in banking at the Bank of Walterboro., and eventually retired from Wells Fargo. She spent many years as a volunteer at the Colleton Medical Center where she worked in the gift shop, and helped with many other outreach programs of the hospital. One of her favorite pastimes was playing bridge, and she had belonged to the local club in Walterboro for over 50 years.
She is survived by her son Jeff Hawes (Deirdre), by her daughter-in-law Suzette Hawes, and by three grandchildren: Tyler Hawes, Raymond Burke Hawes, and Richard Hawes. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Burke Hawes.
A celebration of her life and fellowship with the family will be held at her home, 215 Pineland Road in Walterboro, from 3:00-5:00 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2020. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
