Obituary

WALTERBORO:     Mr. James Edwin "Ed" Fender passed away peacefully Monday morning, October 21, 2024, at the age of 88. He was the husband of the late Norma Beach Boynton Fender.

He was born in Colleton County, November 5, 1935, a son of the late John and Reba Avant Fender. He was a lifelong farmer and worked for Walterboro Motor Sales as a mechanic in his younger years.  He was also a well-known instructor in the machine shop at the vocational school and was a talented woodworker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother John Lewis Fender. He is survived by step-daughters, Catherine Boynton Freeman (John) and Beverly Boynton Dantzler (Sammy) and by seven step-grandchildren.

He will be interred beside his late wife at the Fender Cemetery in a private graveside service. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
