Edwin Ashby "Eddie" Robinson, Jr., 73, of Edisto Island, South Carolina, passed away on February 7, 2026. Born February 1, 1953, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Edwin Ashby Robinson, Sr. and Betty Lou Harley Robinson. He joined the South Carolina Highway Patrol in 1979, serving in Georgetown County and later in Colleton County. He also served as a Colleton County Sheriff's Deputy, a City of Walterboro police officer, and a volunteer fireman for the City of Walterboro. After retiring from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Eddie continued his service by working in the SCHP IT Department until fully retiring in 2017.
Eddie loved spending time working with model trains, riding his motorcycle, taking road trips, and enjoying the beach. He was a devoted member of the Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Thomas Robinson; his daughter, Cassie Ivey (Tim); and his grandson, Traxton Ivey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Robinson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Friends of the Colleton County Animal Shelter (FoCCAS), 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, SC 29488, or the Ronald McDonald House.
Funeral services, with honors provided by the South Carolina Highway Patrol Honor Guard, will be held Friday morning, February 13, 2026 at 11:00 at The Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island. A reception will follow the service. Interment services at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, where he will be laid to rest beside his late parents and brother, will be held privately. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
