Elizabeth O'Hear Young, daughter of the late Dorothy Fraser Young, and the late Dr. Gilbert F. Young, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.  She was 65.

Elizabeth, affectionately known to her family and friends as "Beth", grew up in Mt. Pleasant.  She graduated from Porter-Gaud School in Charleston, and from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. Following graduation, she was employed by the Coca-Cola Company, and also pursued training toward obtaining a certificate in paralegal studies. While in school, Beth enjoyed playing tennis. She had a special love for animals, adopting and caring for cats and dogs through much of her life.  Like her father, she was a voracious reader who took much pleasure in books.

She is survived by a host of cousins and friends who loved her dearly.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, October 29, 2025 at 11:00 at Live Oak Cemetery in Walterboro.  Memorials may be made in her memory to Friends of the Colleton County Animal Shelter (FoCCAS), 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, SC  29488.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
