Mrs. Eva Mae Polk Hiott passed peacefully into Heaven's gates surrounded by her loving family at home Saturday. Mrs. Hiott was a mother and faithful member of Black Creek Baptist Church. She served in many capacities in the church and foremost was a "Granny" to all.
Her greatest enjoyment was seeing her growing family's achievements & sharing those special moments with each one of them. She was the strong but gentle hand for five generations.
Mrs. Hiott relished the simple pleasures of life including the beauty of God's creation. She enjoyed a simple ride on the golf cart or an afternoon by the fish pond. In the latter part of her life, she enjoyed the companionship of her dog, Coco.
Mrs. Hiott was predeceased by her beloved husband, Elijah M. Hiott, and son, Ernie L. Hiott, as well as her great-granddaughter, Calista L. Smith & grand son-in-law, Mark H. Odum.
She is survived by one daughter, Troyce H. Crosby, six grandchildren, Julie Hiott, Thomas L. Crosby, Jr. (Wanda), Terri C. Smith (Perry), Tina C. Smith (Marty), Tami C. Odum, Todd L. Crosby (Melissa). She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren as well as host of other loved ones.
