ISLANDTON: Mrs. Faye Venida Bunton Godley, wife of the late Norris Ceal Godley, died Wednesday afternoon at Trident Medical Center in Charleston. She was 77.

Mrs. Godley was born in Bamberg March 12, 1934 a daughter of the late Charles Elwood Bunton and Janie Rae Strickland Bunton. She was a graduate of Lodge High School and was a retired lunchroom worker at Bells Elementary School. Mrs. Godley was a devoted member of Rice Patch Christian Church in Islandton where she was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was a member of the Clemson Extension Home Demonstration Club and will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother.

She is survived by four sons, Travis Godley (Linda) of Walterboro, Roger Godley of Islandton, David Godley of Beaufort, and Tommie Godley (Kelly) of Bamberg. There are two daughters, Jeanine Godley Rhodes (Del Dennis) of Edisto Beach and Elaine Godley Gibson (Robert) of Hampton. Mrs. Godley has one brother, Elwood Bunton of Orangeburg and one sister, Joyce Horne of Givhans. There are eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam Christie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in the Rice Patch Christian Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:30 to 9:00 PM at the home of her daughter, Jeanine Rhodes, 607 Hampton Street in Walterboro.
