Irma Gail Savage Glover, known to all who loved her as "Gail," passed away at home on March 31, 2026. Gail was born on January 20, 1944, in Walterboro, South Carolina, to the late Henry Elliott Savage Jr. and Irma Sasser Savage.

After high school, Gail attended Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, an experience that shaped her profoundly. Guided by her mother toward mathematics, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in 1966 and a Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina in 1969.

That same year, 1969, she married Marion B. Glover. The two had known each other since kindergarten, grew up together, and eventually found their way back to each other after college, building a shared life of nearly fifty-seven years. After brief stints in Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey, and St. Louis, Missouri, the couple settled in Atlanta, Georgia, where Gail taught as a part-time instructor at Georgia State University and Clayton State University. She furthered her studies with coursework in Statistics at Emory University and earned a Certified Financial Planning credential in 1985, reflecting a lifelong commitment to learning and growth.

In 1983, Gail and Marion entered business together. They built Glover & Associates, Inc., a financial consulting firm specializing in succession and estate planning and business valuations, alongside Glover Capital, Inc., a merger and acquisition advisory firm that has assisted in the sale of beverage businesses throughout the United States and internationally for more than forty years. Gail served as President and owner of Glover & Associates and as a registered representative with Glover Capital.

Gail's faith was foundational to who she was. Raised in the Presbyterian tradition, she was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Walterboro until she and Marion joined Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta in 1974. At Peachtree she served as an Elder for two terms, and during her second term as Clerk of the Session, a role of significant responsibility and trust within the congregation. Her dedication to the Presbyterian tradition also led her to serve on the Board of Trustees of Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur.

Her relationship with Agnes Scott deepened long after graduation. She served on the Alumnae Board, co-chaired her 50th reunion in 2016, and from 2012 to 2020 served as a trustee of the college, including as vice chairman of the finance committee, later being named Trustee Emerita. She and Marion were generous benefactors, endowing the Gail Savage Glover '66 and Marion Glover Business Leadership Professorship and supporting numerous initiatives including Bridge to Business, a collaboration between Agnes Scott and Georgia Tech's Scheller College of Business, and she was honored as a member of the 1889 Society at Agnes Scott. Believing that physical activity is essential to a long and productive life, she served on Agnes Scott's Athletic Advisory Board and in 2024 was inducted into the Agnes Scott Athletics Hall of Fame. At Georgia Tech, they established endowments supporting the Promise Scholarship program, dean's scholarships within the Scheller College of Business, and athletic scholarships. On football Saturdays, they carried on a cherished tradition, driving Marion's gold and black 1931 Model A Ford to campus.

Gail enjoyed spending time at their homes in Atlanta, on the Isle of Palms, South Carolina, and at Lake Burton in North Georgia. From the time that she was very young, she enjoyed the South Carolina beaches and being on the water boating. She was a devoted gardener, a gourmet cook who delighted in feeding family and friends, a crossword puzzle enthusiast, and an avid traveler with a curiosity about places and cultures around the world. She was a voracious reader and learner throughout her life. She was also a lifelong lover of poodles (Nappy, Caesar, Peppy, Truffles and Hugo) who were constant companions. She believed in staying active and did so by walking almost every day with Marion and one of her poodles by her side. She loved deeply and lived life fully.

Gail is survived by her devoted husband, Marion B. Glover of Atlanta, Georgia; her brother, H. Elliott Savage III, and sister-in-law, Shelley Savage, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; and her sister-in-law, Juanita Eason of Portsmouth, Virginia.

She is also survived by her nephews, H. Elliott Savage IV and his wife, Lauren Savage, of Austin, Texas; R. Scott Savage and his wife, Lindsay Savage, of Atlanta, Georgia; Stephen Eason and his wife, Linda Eason, of Chesapeake, Virginia; William Eason and his wife, Maria Eason, of Portsmouth, Virginia; and Robert Eason and his wife, Rhonda Eason, of Camden, North Carolina. In addition, she leaves behind several beloved great-nieces and great-nephews. Gail's current poodle, Hugo, will also miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Walterboro, South Carolina, with burial to follow in Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held in Wilson Chapel at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
