COTTAGEVILLE :     Mrs. Glennie Jeanette Garrett McLees, wife of Joseph Donald McLees, passed away Sunday morning, April 19, 2020 at the Trident Medical Center in Charleston.  She was 82.

Mrs. McLees was born in Columbus, GA October 8, 1937 a daughter of Johnnie James Garrett and Mildred Inez Deese Garrett.  She married her high school sweetheart on June 7, 1956, and they would have celebrated their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary this year.  Although she worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses over the years, her greatest joy and accomplishment was being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and providing her family with a home full of love.  She was a "military wife", always supporting her husband throughout his career in the United States Navy as they moved across the nation.  She enjoyed sewing, dancing, and possessed a "sweet tooth" that was well-known to all of her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children:  Joe McLees (Joy) of Walterboro, and Donna Addison (Wallace), and Gerri McLees of Cottageville.  She leaves behind her grandchildren that she absolutely adored:  Michael Barrineau (Kim) of Moncks Corner, Daniel Howard (Michelle) of Ladson, Nikki Schluter (Warren), Kristen Roper (David), and Amanda Barrineau of Cottageville, Lindsey Linder (Brian) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Lauren Smith (Hargrove) of Lexington, and Jason Addison (Jennifer) of Fremount, CA.  She is survived by her siblings:  Betty Bullock (Jim) of Harriman, TN, Sandra Harris of Pine Mountain, GA, and Donnie Garrett (Linda) of Georgia.  There are sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.  Mrs. McLees was preceded in death by her parents, by four brothers (Richard, Raymond, Charles, Jimmy) by  two sisters (Barbara, Wanda), as well as by a son-in-law, Bobby Howard and a daughter-in-law, Penny McLees.

A public memorial service will be held on a date to be announced once the state and national emergency subsides.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
