WALTERBORO :     Mrs. Gloria Johnson Berry, wife of the late Lee J. Berry, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at her home in Walterboro under hospice care.  She was 95.

Mrs. Berry was born in North Charleston February 12, 1927 a daughter of the late James Benny Johnson and Jenny Bliss Bryan Johnson.  She was a homemaker, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Walterboro.  Mrs. Berry was an avid golfer in years past, having won the Lower State Women's Golf Tournament several times.  She was a member of Dogwood Hills Country Club, and also loved fishing and gardening.

She is survived by her children Ronald Berry (Kathy), and Bonnie Sikes.  There are two grandchildren, James Ryan Berry and Shelly Lynn Kirby, as well as three great-grandchildren Jennifer, Carly and Miles.  She leaves behind four great-great-grandchildren Adi, Graclyn, Kingston and Mila.  In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Lee Berry, and a granddaughter Heather Strickland Petit.

Funeral services will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Live Oak Cemetery, P.O.B. 1351, Walterboro, SC  29488.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
