RUFFIN :    Mr. Harold Lee Matthews, husband of Betty Kulley Matthews, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.  He was 89.

Mr. Matthews was born in Crestview, FL January 29, 1931 a son of the late Ernest and Nellie Beard Matthews.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and was a retired heavy equipment operator.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Patricia Lynn Cheek (Landon) of Tampa, FL and by his sister Linda Davidson, of San Antonio, TX.  There are four grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Tuesday afternoon, January 5, 2021 from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro.  Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Plantation Memorial Gardens in Moncks Corner.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
