Obituary

WALTERBORO: Harold Madison Robertson, 92, passed away peacefully Friday evening, November 20, at his daughter's home in Columbia. Born May 10, 1923, in Smoaks, he was the son of the late Getha M. and Dola W. Robertson.

After serving in WWII, Mr. Robertson went on to attain many more accomplishments. As a proud member of his community, he founded Robertson Wholesale Electrical Supply, and served on the Highway Commission, SC Probation, Pardon, and Parole Board, and the SC Public Service Authority (Santee Cooper). He was one of the founders of the Bank of Walterboro and in his 26 years on the Board of Directors never missed a meeting. Mr. Robertson was an avid outdoorsman, true Southern Gentleman, and a man of strong faith and family values.

Mr. Robertson was pre-deceased by his wife of 73 years, Sarah Sweat Robertson. In addition to his wife, he was pre-deceased by two sisters, Doris R. Sweat and Genelle R. Moore. He is survived by his daughter Pamela Jean Robertson; two granddaughters, Sarah Ashlan Zemp (Patrick) and Pamela Paige Simensen (Christian); two great-grandchildren, Matthew Parker Simensen and Sarah Mackenzie Simensen; and two sisters, Joan R. Hiott (Johnny) and Bette R. Fralick.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Walterboro with burial following in the Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro. Memorials may be made to Live Oak Cemetery, P.O. Box 1351, Walterboro, SC 29488.
