RAVENEL :   Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Theresa "Harriett" Benton Muse passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, December 4, 2022.

Harriett was born in Charleston, SC on January 26, 1947 to the late Gladys Smoak Benton and David S. Benton.  She was a homemaker, and even with her large family, she made everyone she met feel loved, special and cared for.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Jerry Allen Muse of Ravenel;  children:  Jeffery and Mary Muse of Ravenel, Tony and Debra Muse of Round O, Theresa and William Wright of Summerville, Harold and Robin Barley of Eutawville, Kerry Peterson of North Charleston, and Lynn and Scott Perry of Summerville.  She has one brother Roy Benton of Ladson, fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Muse, by a sister Mary Griffin, and by a brother D. Belton Benton.

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday morning, December 8, 2022 at 11:00 at Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
