WALTERBORO : Henry "Hank" Joseph McGlone passed away Thursday morning, January 14, 2021 at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro. He was 54.
Hank was born in Brooklyn, NY July 28, 1966 a son of Elsinore Jensen McGlone and the late William Joseph McGlone. He graduated from Grace Lutheran Academy High School in 1984 and then entered the U.S. Army. He served with distinction in Operation Desert Storm as a member of a tank crew, and earned the nickname "Hank the Tank". After the war, Hank was stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas, and later served in a reserve unit in upstate New York. He was a disabled veteran, and was always proud of his service to the United States. He was a loving son, father and brother and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees.
He is survived by his mother Elsinore, by his two sons Christopher (Kim) and Steven and their mother Kim, by his grandson Liam "Hank", by his sister Patricia Garrison (Ed), and by his nieces Deirdre and Elizabeth Garrison
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the family will conduct a private graveside service at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an organization that was very dear to Hank, unitedforthetroops.org. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
