Obituary

WALTERBORO :     Mrs. Inez Ermine Fralix Langdale, wife of the late Benjamin Harold "Hoss" Langdale, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, March 12, 2023 at the St. George Healthcare Center.  She was 96.

Mrs. Langdale was born near St. George in Dorchester County November 5, 1926, a daughter of the late Irvin English Fralix and Hannah Gruber Fralix.  For many years she was a supervisor at Carolina Girls Wear, before becoming employed at Asten-Hill, where she retired.  Mrs. Langdale was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where she formerly sang in the church choir.  Throughout her life, if the doors of the church were open, she and her husband were there.  She was a gifted seamstress and was talented in needlework…often making quilts, pillows and other crafts without the use of a stencil.  Her handiwork was cherished by the many adults in the community who were lucky enough to receive her creations, and she was known for many years to give tokens of love she made to the children of the church at Christmas and Easter.  She was a published poet, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister…and a friend to all she met.

She is survived by two granddaughters, Tammie Fralix Clark of St. George, and Jennifer Fralix Stillinger (John) of Summerville.  There are five great-grandchildren:  Joey, Hunter, Kalynn, McKenzie and Boyd.  She leaves behind two great great-grandchildren, Jordynn and Kade.  Mrs. Langdale is survived by her daughter-in-law Connie Fralix, by her sisters-in-law and their husbands, Eugenia Horseman (Larry), Jo Ann Craven (Joe Ben), and Jeanette Craven (Edward), and by her brother-in-law and his wife, Jervey Langdale (Theresa)  There is a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Freddie B. Fralix, and by her sisters, Marjorie Infinger and Mildred Litchfield.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, March 15, 2023 at 11:00 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends during a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 that morning in the church sanctuary.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 7345 Jefferies Highway, Walterboro, SC  29488.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
