WALTERBORO :    James "Jimmy" West passed away Friday evening, February 5, 2021 at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro.  He was 60.

Jimmy was born in Hope Mills, NC October 11, 1960.  He served honorably in the United States Air Force for twelve years, and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas.  He later worked at Home Depot, and various grocery stores, before finally serving as a security guard in Mount Pleasant.  Jimmy attended The Citadel and Charleston Southern University, and loved fishing and playing chess.  Before his residency at the Victory House, he attended Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant.

Jimmy is survived by his parents Jim and Jeri West of Charleston, and by three sisters:  Barbara Jean Herbruck of Goose Creek, Suzanne Holseberg of Charlotte, and Ann-Margareth West of Florida.  There are two nieces, Kristin Herbruck and Tamara Fritz, as well as four nephews, Alex Herbruck, Benjamin Fritz, Hunter Holseberg, and Chase Holseberg.

In consideration of the current situation with the COVID pandemic, and with the health and safety of the community in mind, the family decided to hold services privately.  Remembrances of Jimmy are welcomed in the guestbook.
