WALTERBORO : Jennie Lee Seigler Bridge passed away peacefully Friday morning, November 25, 2022 at her home, under hospice care, with her devoted daughter Kim by her side. She was 97.
Jennie Lee was born in Colleton County October 8, 1925 a daughter of the late Ezra and Mary Elizabeth "Lizzy" Dunn Seigler. For many years she owned and operated Bridge Day Care Center and through it, impacted the lives of generations of children throughout the area with her caring and compassionate demeanor. She was a lifelong, active member of Bedon Baptist Church. Her infectious smile and outgoing personality will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter Kim Bridge, by her grandson Rodney Bridge (Paige), and by her granddaughters Maya DeSantis and Ashley Ewers (Tom). She has four great-grandchildren: Mason, Camden, Branson and Weston. In addition to her parents, Jennie Lee was preceded in death by her son Rodney Bridge, and by her siblings Evelyn Newcomer, and Lloyd and Thomas Seigler. She leaves behind her caregiver Brooke, a host of nieces, nephews and extended family, and her devoted cat "Mittens", who stayed by her bedside throughout her illness, and was beside her when she passed away.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday evening, November 30, 2022 at 6:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro. The family will receive friends immediately following the service until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to either Bedon Baptist Church, or to the Friends of the Colleton County Animal Shelter (FOCCAS).
