WALTERBORO
: Mrs. Jennifer T. Kinard, wife of Dr. John Kinard, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Roper St. Francis Hospital in West Ashley.
She was 70.
Mrs. Kinard was born in Colleton County August 18, 1950 and was a daughter of the late G.R. and Christine Carter Thompson. She graduated from the Nursing Program at Baptist College, and served as an operating room nurse at the Colleton Medical Center for many years. She was instrumental in introducing minimally invasive laproscopic surgery to the area. Mrs. Kinard also worked as both a nurse and office manager for her husband's medical practice. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, and loved reading, gardening, and spending time at Edisto Beach. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children: Lindsey Davis (Sheldon), John A. Hamilton Jr. (Melanie) and Megan Kinard. She has three step-children: John Kinard III (Teresa), Cindy Robinson (Casey) and Laura Hartman (Rob). She has one sister, Linda T. Strickland, and eleven grandchildren. Mrs. Kinard was preceded in death by her siblings, Olin and Charles Tucker Jr., and Ann Boger.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 2:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with private committal services immediately following at Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
