WALTERBORO: Mr. James Ryan "Jimmy" White III, husband of Sarah Lee Thomas White, passed away Friday morning at his home in Forest Hills.  He was 76.

Jimmy was born in Walterboro December 25, 1946 a son of the late James Ryan White Jr. and Cora Mathis White.  He was a graduate of Walterboro High School, where he excelled in football, and later graduated from Clemson in 1969. Jimmy retired from Howard E. Thomas, Inc., and had spent his entire life in the town he loved…Walterboro. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Shelley Thomas (John) and by his sons, Craig White (MaHallie) and Tyler White (Terri).  There are six grandchildren:  Colin and Anne Mathis Thomas, and Dylan, Walker, Cora and Lotti White.  Jimmy leaves behind two sisters, Linda White Sisk and Terron White Calvert, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A memorial services for Jimmy will be held Sunday afternoon, March 26, 2023 at 2:00 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Walterboro. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the food pantry at Bethel United Methodist Church.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro, is in charge of arrangements.
