ISLANDTON : Mr. John Charles Sineath Jr., husband of the late Denise Porter Sineath, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 8, 2020 in Columbia under hospice care after an extended illness. He was 70
John Charles was born in Colleton County April 17, 1950 a son of the late John Charles "J.C." Sineath Sr., and Nollie Padgett Sineath. In his early years, he worked for the Colleton County Assessor's Office, and was also a firefighter for both the Walterboro City Fire Department and the Islandton Volunteer Fire Department. In later years, he was a long distance truck driver, and was a part owner of S&S Disposal Company. John Charles was a member of Rice Patch Christian Church, and he possessed an outgoing personality and was always friendly and personable to everyone he met. His infectious smile and genuine laugh will be missed by all.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacie Sineath Vanier (Dwight) of Stonewall, LA, a granddaughter Brianna Vanier, and a great-grandson Connor. He leaves behind his sisters, Frances S. Gibson (Rufus) of Varnville, and Ellen S. Smith of Walterboro. He is survived by his nieces and nephews who were all very important to him: Theresa Grey (Trey), Edwin Gibson (Stephanie), Brenda Renfroe (Jonathan), Linda Herrington (Jay) and Lynn Lea (Scott). He was preceded in death last month by his brother-in-law Dennis Smith.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, August 12, 2020 at 11:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Rice Patch Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 the morning of the service. Due to the coronavirus situation, social distancing is encouraged among those in attendance. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
