WALTERBORO: John Furman Walker Jr. passed away Saturday at the Medical University in Charleston. He was 52.

Mr. Walker was born in Estill, SC March 27, 1963 a son of Carolyn Jones Walker and the late John Furman walker Sr. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping on Pine Island and spending time with his family.


He is survived by his mother and step-father Carolyn J. Thompson and "Buddy" Thompson of Walterboro. He has one son, John Furman Walker III of Blythewood, and two sisters, Carla Nettles and Wanda Stone of Walterboro. He has one grandchild, John Grayson Walker. John was preceded in death by his brother Richard Walker.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening at 6:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
