WALTERBORO :    Mr. Johnnie Milton Proctor, husband of the late Virginia Langdale Proctor, passed away Friday morning, December 16, 2022 at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta.  He was 96.

Mr. Proctor was born October 29, 1926 in Dorchester County, a son of the late John and Mamie Herron Proctor. He was a WWII veteran of the Merchant Marines, and was a retired employee of Asten-Hill in Walterboro.  Mr. Proctor was a kind and gentle Christian man who loved his Lord.  He was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist church, where he served on many committees and was a former Deacon and Church Treasurer.

Mr. Proctor is survived by his daughter, Pamela Proctor Boatwright, and her husband George Olin Boatwright, of North Augusta.  Mr. Proctor was preceded in death in 2012 by his daughter Elaine Proctor Callahan, and in 2015, by his wife of sixty-seven years, Virginia Proctor.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, December 22, 2022 at 2:00 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 Wednesday evening, December 21, 2022 at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro.
