WALTERBORO: Mr. Joseph D. Ramsey Sr., husband of the late Latrelle Mixson Ramsey, passed away at his home Friday morning. He was 72.

Mr. Ramsey was born in Walterboro December 4, 1943 a son of the late Joseph and Hazel Ramsey. He was a retired electrical superintendant with MasTec, and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish.


He is survived by his children: Lisa M. Ramsey, Joseph D. Ramsey Jr., and Michael Anthony Ramsey (Pam), all of Walterboro. He has three step-children: Kerry R. Heape (Brenda) of Walterboro, Rodney W. Heape of Columbia, and Rhonda Heape Davis (Walter) of Walterboro. There are eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery near Varnville. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home Monday morning.
